AI will not replace your English teacher

Language models can draft feedback. They cannot hold you in a live conversation, notice when you freeze, or decide what you should try next.

AI is getting better at spotting grammar patterns and suggesting vocabulary. That is useful. It is also not teaching.

A teacher hears hesitation, chooses when to interrupt, and knows whether a “mistake” was actually a student testing a new structure. A model sees text. It does not sit across from you for 15 minutes and keep the conversation human.

Talkinu’s rule is simple: teachers teach, AI assists. Analysis should arrive after the session, where a teacher can edit it. If a tool cannot be reviewed by the person who taught you, it should not be treated as feedback.

Use models to prepare questions, review a transcript, or drill a phrase. Do not outsource the conversation itself.
